Friday, November 2nd the Fairbanks Panthers face the West Jefferson Roughriders in the 2007 Division V State Championships. These two storied small school programs will clash @ 7:30 pm @ Kile Field in West Jefferson, Ohio. News agencies from across the state will be on the sidelines for this titanic contest. Mr. Morris is inconveniently absent today. I have some dental work I need to have taken care of so I am healthy enough to coach our team on Thursday. Please be courteous and cooperative for Mr. Smith during his visit today. No hall passes today unless it is an emergency.

Below you will find your classroom assignments, enjoy your day with technology.

Advanced Technology Students (periods 1 & 2)

1. Read a tech article from MSNBC and save the link to your excel file.
2. Create two links to your favorite websites in another column on your excel file.
3. Save your excel file and upload to your email or save to the z: drive shared media folder.
4. You may web browse until the end of the class period.

Ed Tech (7th graders)

1. Type2Learn (15 minutes)
2. Visit your blog and post an update. Comment on a classmates blog. (15 minutes)
3. You may web browse until the end of the class period.


Accounting (Period 6)

1. Utilize the computer for outside work, practice or research.
2. Be accountable.
3. Do unto others.

Business Technology (periods 7 & 8)

Open the MS word attachment. You may print a copy to take with you. Each student will create an individual magazine cover to be printed in color. The Title can be any topic or interest that reflects your life. Covers will be laminated when finished. You may use Word or Publisher to complete the exercise. Your magazine cover will be due next Friday and printed on February 12th and 13th. All covers will be laminated by Valentines Day.

DESKTOP PUBLISHING ASSIGNMENT MAGAZINE COVER


Create a magazine cover that is about your interests. Choose one/two word(s) that describes the title of the publication. Then, be sure you follow all of the requirements listed below. Be creative and make the finished product look as professional as possible. Due date 2-9-2007. See Mr. Morris for a printout of the point distribution.

During this month there are two major technology events taking place. Your first tech assignment for the second semester is to identify one of the two events. After you are confident you have located a major tech story write a one page double spaced story summarizing the event. You will want to use more than one source to assist you.
