Although many people use the terms Web and Internet interchangeably, the Web is just one of the many services available on the Internet. While the Internet was developed in the late 1960s, the Web came into existence less than a decade ago – in the early 1990s. The Web actually is a relatively new aspect of the Internet. Since then, however, it has grown phenomenally to become the most widely used service on the Internet.

Five reasons for blogging:

1. Condition yourself as an electronic reader/writer.

2. Connect with others.

3. Maintain permanent records.

4. Outlet for ideas (creativity).

5. Opportunity to meet new people.
