As Windows Vista's opening date approaches we will be using class time to read articles pertaining to new software features. Today, visit www.dispatch.com and the connect technology section. Peruse the frontpage an locate the article about the new Microsoft word. Read and save the webpage to excel and attach the file to your email. It is our goal to save each article we read associated with Vista.

Attention Technology Students!

During this month there are two major technology events taking place. Your first tech assignment for the second semester is to identify one of the two events. After you are confident you have located a major tech story write a one page double spaced story summarizing the event. You will want to use more than one source to assist you. Write-ups are due Friday at the end of your class period. Peruse news websites to locate articles.

Dispatch Media Day

1. Record in your excel file two articles from the Columbus Dispatch

2. Post a weekend update to your blog.

3. Web browse after updating each assignment.

Mr. Morris is not in school today. Please be courteous and cooperative for your substitute.

Business Technology Periods 1 & 8

1. Begin reading chapter ten of your Blog Book stop on page 179, before "Care and feeding of your blog.

2. Create a post to summarize the results of you reading.

3. Search, read and log one technology article into your excel file.

4. You may web browse when work is complete.

Ed Tech (period 3)

1. Spend ten minutes on type2learn

2. Use the remaining class period to work in your blog.

1. Chapter five terms on page 116. Define all 13 terms

Students may utilize computers for outside work and practice.

1. From the blogger startup page take the time to convert your blog to beta. You will probably have to register for a gmail account but you will not be required to use it. Beta means that the software is still in the experimental stages. It will take a few moments to convert. You will now always log onto the beta blog page in order to access you new blog.

2. Peruse the templates section, you may choose to select a different style or adjust colors. You will like how several features are much easier to use. Click on the dashboard area and customize in order to experiment with the new changes.

3. Post an update to your new blog and email me your new beta blog address. You may send your blog page to fairbanksgolf@gmail.com. The interim window opens today so I need your blog changed by the end of the week. The second nine weeks should have at least ten timed stamps in November.

4. You may web browse when your blog has been changed and emailed.
